All About Me!
Hello my name is Leanne Devine. I have been teaching at Wheatley Hill Primary for fourteen years now and have taught in every year group. This is my first year teaching Year 6 and I am really enjoying it. I love working at Wheatley Hill Primary as it is such a special place filled with wonderful children and amazing staff.
In school I am the lead for English, PE, PSHCE, SRE, SMSC, Rights Respecting Schools and School Council. I feel proud to be part of the leadership team and be in a position to support other staff to deliver the best education for our children.
I am passionate about Rights Respecting Schools and I am about to start my training to become a Level 1 assessor for UNICEF. The Rights Respecting School award encourages children to feel confident in their abilities and find ways to make difference to their lives and the world.
My other passion is reading. I love books! My favourite authors are Lisa Jewell, Lyndsey Kelk, Giovanna Fletcher, Lucy Robinson, Sophie Kinsella and Diane Chamberlain. I also love discovering a new author who makes me laugh or cry. The best thing about finding a book that has you gripped is then passing it on to someone else to enjoy (usually my mam, mother in law and Mrs.Booth) when it’s finished.
At home I love spending time with my husband and two daughters. We love our family holidays where we get to relax and have fun together. Our favourite places to go are Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. We also love to go to the Theatre and some of my favourite shows have been Jersey Boys, The Bodyguard and Wicked. I like to go shopping with my mam and daughters. We enjoy jumping on a train and visiting new cities and this year we went to see the sights and shops of Liverpool. Another highlight of this year has been surprising our daughters by taking them to see Little Mix in concert and visiting my niece in London.
