Miss Kelly Dobson
Year 4 Teacher
All About Me!
Hello my name is Kelly Dobson and I am the Year 5 teacher. Prior to moving into year 5, I taught in year 3, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My other roles within school include being maths and MFL subject leader which I find interesting as I enjoy both subjects, especially French. I have an interest in the country and speaking the language. It is great to see the engagement and enthusiasm of children when I teach them French.
I have always wanted to be a primary school teacher since a young age. I can remember lining my teddies and dolls up on the bed and reading them stories! I love working with children as I find the job highly rewarding because of the difference I can make to each child I teach. It is a pleasure for me to develop their understanding, confidence and knowledge on a daily basis to help them thrive and strive to achieve. Teaching is a job that never stops but the children make it worth while!
Outside of school I enjoy travelling to new places. I spent 8 months living and working in Australia a few years ago which was amazing and the children love to hear stories about what I did there. I love their disbelief at hearing I went sky diving and worked in a koala sanctuary. I also enjoy shopping… although a bit too much as well as seeing friends and family. I have a little dog called Penelope that some of the children love to hear tales about what she has chewed up or silly things she has done!
Teaching is a passion of mine and I am privileged to be part of the team at Wheatley Hill as it is a fantastic school with amazing opportunities for all that go here.
