A Little About Me

Alan Scarr

As headteacher of Wheatley Hill Primary School, I am a member of the school governing body. I enjoy working with our school governors and I find their input and support very effective at helping to lead and manage the school. I report termly (at least) to the governors, although many of our governors are often in school supporting teaching & learning, conducting learning walks or simply having a coffee.

The governing body at WHPS is very strong and is not afraid to challenge us or ask questions about everything in school from attendance to school data.  We spend a lot of time supporting our governors and together we have completed the NGA skills audit. All of the governors have also been involved in writing the School Development Plan and School Self Evaluation.
