SEND - Finance
At Wheatley Hill Primary School, for those pupils with High Needs, Costed Provision Maps are created with detailed evidence of supporting resources provided in school. This builds a portfolio of the progress each child makes and additional funding and financial support can be applied for from the Local Authority.
Detailed assessments and target tracking ensure that all learners achieve and make progress at Wheatley Hill Primary School.
If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
Some children in school may require additional funding in order to meet their needs. As a school, we work with the Local Authority and External Agencies to determine what additional funding we may require to best support the children in our care.
The school funding formula is generated to include financial provision to specifically support pupils’ individual special needs. This funding is prioritised to tailor make learning to ensure small steps of progress are continually made by all SEND learners.
Each year the school is allocated a budget to help with the provision for SEN children. In the academic year 2016-2017 school received £90,552 in its SEN notional budget and in the academic year 2017-18 this SEN budget was set at £81,191.
This money is used to support SEN learners in school including the cost of support staff, pastoral worker, interventions and staff training.
