Welcome to Wheatley Hill Primary

"A caring, inclusive school at the heart of the local community. Where quality learning can take place both inside and outside the classroom."

My name is Mr Alan Scarr and I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of Wheatley Hill Primary School. The school is a wonderful, welcoming place full of wonderful children and staff members. We are a very supportive and inclusive school where the children are put at the centre of everything we do. We strive to support our pupils not only academically but also socially and emotionally. We are a Rights Respecting School and embed rights into all that we do.

We are a very well respected school within the community and are well supported by parents, our amazing governing body and members of the local community. Wheatley Hill Primary is a fantastic place for any child to attend as we offer an exciting, innovative curriculum designed to challenge, engage and enthuse all of our pupils.

At Wheatley Hill Primary, we believe that "Life is the best teacher," and build a wide variety of real-life learning opportunities into our curriculum and educate our children not only in the classroom but in the forest school, the local community and the wider world through our huge array of trips and residentials. We are very proud of our school and would like to welcome you to visit us any time.

“Imagine a great, ocean-going sailing ship with a strong, wooden frame and masts covered in sails towering high above the waterline. A great ship of this nature does not reside in the safety of harbours and shallow waters but faces the trials and grand adventure of the high seas.

Our school is this ship, our staff and pupils its dedicated crew. It does not belong in the forever calm, safe waters of shore but driving forward in the search for challenge, understanding and knowledge, taking calculated risks in our pursuit of the grand adventure ahead. Our teamwork, resilience and commitment to learning support us as we move forward on our incredible journey. They say a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.”
